Rogoz Audio S40 isolation discs have been developed to reduce vibration transfer between the supporting surface and high-end audio components. They may be used both together with spikes and as standalone isolation elements placed directly under factory feet of audio equipment.
The upper surface features a precision-machined recess allowing stable positioning of the spike tip. At the same time, the discs may also operate directly under conventional equipment feet, acting as compact vibration and resonance control elements.
The operating principle is based on controlled dissipation of mechanical energy and reduction of parasitic resonances occurring at the interface between the device and the supporting surface. By minimizing the contact area and utilizing carefully selected material properties, part of the vibrational energy is converted into thermal energy.
The foundation of the design is a precisely tuned composite structure combining extremely hard NZ3 steel with a high-loss damping elastomer. Differences in mechanical properties and vibration propagation characteristics of the materials used allowed controlled energy dissipation and the desired damping behaviour to be achieved.
The elastomer layer acts as an active damping interface reducing parasitic resonances generated between the device and the supporting surface. Carefully selected material proportions ensure stable operating conditions and contribute to improved clarity, precision and coherence of musical reproduction.
