The anti-vibration effect of the BW40 MKII isolators is based on reducing the transmission of vibrations between the supporting surface and audio components.
The desired damping characteristics were achieved through the use of anisotropic material properties and differences in surface density distributions utilizing both tensile and compressive stress behaviour.
The foundation of the design is a multilayer Sandwich-type architecture forming a precisely tuned composite structure composed of carbon polymers and selected types of steel.
The construction consists of two central layers made of extremely hard polished NZ3 steel combined with an upper layer manufactured from brushed A10X steel.
The entire steel-polymer structure is bonded by a hybrid elastomer core.
The high-modulus MS hybrid elastomer used between the layers acts as an active vibration damping interface, effectively reducing parasitic resonances occurring at the junction of materials with different densities and mechanical properties.
Due to the viscoelastic behaviour of the hybrid core, the isolator maintains a linear damping characteristic across the entire structure, ensuring high acoustic neutrality, stability and precise energy dissipation.
