Compact design. Sandwich-structured top (40 mm) made of plywood, MDF, and finished with natural sapeli mahogany veneer.

The SMO40 is one of the longest-standing designs in the Rogoz Audio range, refined over nearly two decades. In 2010, it received the highest rating from “Hi-Fi Choice” (5 stars) along with the “Editor’s Choice” award.

The platform combines materials with different physical properties — the high damping characteristics of MDF are paired with the low energy storage of plywood, promoting effective vibration dissipation.

Adjustable anti-vibration spikes allow precise leveling and reduce vibration transfer between the platform and the supporting surface.

Images may also present alternative finish options, illustrating available color and material variations.

The SMO40 is designed as a compact anti-vibration platform for high-end audio components, offering effective vibration control in a lightweight, refined form with a natural material character.

Vibration control and mechanical stability

Rogoz Audio platforms are designed as systems that control the flow of mechanical energy. In the SMO40 model, the key elements are material diversity and point-based support.

The layered structure (plywood + MDF + natural veneer) is non-uniform in terms of density and internal stress distribution. As a result, mass is not constant throughout the structure, enabling selective interaction with mechanical waves.

In practice, vibrational energy is not accumulated within the platform but is partially absorbed and dispersed — including through changes in propagation direction and distribution across layers with differing properties.

The combination of materials with different damping and elasticity characteristics allows for more even energy dissipation across a wide frequency range.

This reduces the coupling of external vibrations — such as those generated by loudspeakers and transmitted through floors and furniture — with sensitive electronic components.

Point support on anti-vibration spikes minimizes contact area, limiting vibration transfer and enabling controlled energy flow.

Sound performance

In practice, this results in a more natural and stable sound presentation, improved clarity, and greater precision in imaging — particularly for source components.
